Garden Update & A Mystery

Baby Okra... right in the center

Baby Tomato... the zuc I'm just holding

 the zucchini

carrots & some onions

the potato patch way out of control with some mystery squash/pumpkin things growing in it

The only thing I thought was that since I heavily composted the potato patch, this is some veg that I had composted and the seeds resurrected in the patch.  At first they were all round and I was sure they were pumpkins, then I saw some that looked like these above.  Since I've never grown potatoes, I didn't pull up anything (weed) that I wasn't sure was a weed, so these leaves, then turned vines, stayed.  One good thought was that whatever it is, we will like it because it is something I've bought and eaten before to have ended up in our compost. :)

a few early harvests.  I pulled up the carrot because a bunny had chewed the green tops off and I wasn't sure if it would still grow and I was completely curious as to what those unseen lovelys looked like at this point in the journey.  The zuc, I'm finding, have to be harvested when the bloom falls off or it will rot...even if it is small. So, we snacked on a few tiny garden treats and admired the magic of growing.
